We offer a completely free directory service with options suited to your needs!

Option 1  – You can promote your business and services with us for free, no strings attached! You don’t need to use our booking platform and customers can contact you directly to make enquiries etc. Simples!

Option 2 – If you’re not an established business and you need help with bookings, payments and bookkeeping – you can promote your business and services with and us and use our online booking facility for free.

All you need to do is complete a simple registration and upload your business profile and services. We can help with this process – just email petspacejersey@yahoo.co.uk your details or a link to your website or FB page and we’ll upload for you!

Free promotion! Simples! Our aim is to make life a little easier by offering one place where Pet Owners can quickly and easily find and access pet services. 
 
You can use this website as a free directory or make use of the Instant Booking facility.

No, all pet carers listed on our website are independent and/or self employed. 

Nope! There is absolutely no charge for Pet Carers – strange but true! 

You can either use the website as a free directory of services or you can list services and make use of the free Instant Booking facility.

(If you choose to sign up to Option 2 (“Instant Booking”) using our online booking facility we do have to charge Pet Owners a small booking fee at check-out to cover PayPal fees).

(PayPal is a secure payment gateway that charges between 3.2%-4.9% per booking (varies). PetSpace charges a total of 5% in order make it viable for us to operate this service).

Applicable only for Instant Bookings (Option 2).

I’s no problem at all but you must publish your own cancellation policy so that Pet Owners know what to expect. In the event of a cancellation, it is the Pet Carers responsibility to ensure this is administered (ie a credit voucher is issued or refund paid). This is not done so by Petspace.je. Where a credit voucher is offered, the Pet Carer may use the ‘Coupon’ option within your PetSpace account.

If you offer any type of pet service, you should acquire appropriate insurances. Insurance such as Public Liability is extremely important as it covers you in unlikely situations such as animal attacks, accidents or injury etc. Pet Owners may request proof of your insurances and registration.
 
PetSpace promotes responsible pet caring; adopting the highest standards of care and animal welfare.

Being self-employed you should contact Jersey Customs for guidance. It is our understanding that you must register for GST if you are making more than £300,000 per year.

Only if using Option 2 (Instant Booking): A coupon code may be created by a Pet Carer in order to offer a discount, promote a special offer or as a credit (instead of issuing a refund where a booked service has been cancelled).

Pet Owner

All you need to do is register once, its quick and easy! You can then start searching for services. 

Pet Owners themselves don’t need to take out insurance, however, when considering a carer for your beloved pet it is highly recommended that you check your prospective Pet Carer has the relevant insurance.

Insurance is extremely important as it covers your pet in an unlikely situation such as injury, accident or illness etc whilst with the Pet Carer.

Petspace.je is not responsible for ensuring or checking insurances but we do support responsible pet caring and the highest standards of care and animal welfare.

Use of the website is free.

You can use the directory to find a Pet Carer for free. 

Some Pet Carers listed on our website may offer “Instant Booking” facilities; if you would like to make an Instant booking, please note that a booking fee may apply. PetSpace uses a secure payment gateway called PayPal who charges between 3.2%-4.9% (varies) and therefore PetSpace will only apply a small commission to make it viable for us to operate this service. In total Pet Owners using Instant Booking should expect to pay a booking fee of 5%.  

This completely depends on who you choose to book with and how often. You can always contact your chosen Pet Carer if they have not displayed any fees.

You should check your chosen Pet Carers Cancellation Policy, where it should state how cancellations are handled by both the Pet Carer and yourself, the Pet Owner. 

If you have made an Instant Booking on PetSpace and you wish to cancel a booking you will need to contact the Pet Carer as soon as possible.

They may offer you a credit coupon to use on a future booking but you can also request a refund from the Pet Carer. 

A coupon code can be issued by a Pet Carer in order to offer a discount, promote a special offer or as a credit (instead of issuing a refund). Coupons may only be redeemed using the Instant Booking facility.

Things you may wish to ask your prospective pet carer:

* References available?

* Police/CRB checked?

* Insured?

* Registered?

* Qualified/courses attended?
