I am a passionate, caring, insured and experienced dog handler.
A day in the life of me, a dog boarder…
Having had a good nights sleep 😴 with Charlie Sausage and Riley on the floor by my side and Oreo wanting to be on the bed! All in all, it was not a bad night having been woken up only once by Oreo wanting to go out so we all go out 💩💦. We actually all enjoyed a lie in until 8am (usually 6am).
After the morning walk around the local paths and tracks, breakfast is served separately to each dog and this has to be all prepared individually as each dog has a different diet. For the fussy eater I have a prepared cooked chicken which is hand fed until the fussy eater settles and feels more relaxed and inclined to eat their normal meal! I find that even the most timid and nervous dog settles after two days here at my home.
Generally in the morning the dogs sleep after their walk but have the option of roaming my enclosed, safe and secure garden while I supervise!
Each dog has the option of a sofa or window seat to chillax so it’s very much a home from home environment here.
Some dogs have a lunch time walk depending on the heat of the weather and their fitness regime. They also have a late walk when it is cooler and helps them settle for the evening time just after their dinner.
We have the odd unexpected event such as a dog waking me in distress with an ear infection which happened recently to poor Riley recently. I was up in the night with ear saline solution and natural ear oil to clean the infection then it’s off to the vet for antibiotics and cream the next day (the vet commented on what a good job I had done of cleaning the ear having been first aid trained in canine care)… A few days later Riley is back to his full health again 😅 so there is never a dull moment but I love what I do ❤️.
We have many returning guests but we do try and accommodate newbies such as Oreo whose owners were not allowed to take him on the camp site so we are at hand just in case of last minute requests and emergencies!
It is definitely becoming a bespoke dog boutique hotel where the dogs feel at ease and relaxed . The owners are kept informed via WhatsApp messages with photos and updates which helps puts their minds at rest and helps to reassure them by knowing that their dog is happy and well.
My main aim is to give the very best care and attention to every wonderful dog who comes to stay at Vauxvert House 🥰

I have witnessed her calming nature with a very timid dog.
Her home is set out exceptionally well for a doggy holiday.
You wont regret leaving your beloved dog in her capable hands.

She gave up some of her spare time to make my anxious dog feel safe and comfortable with her and Sarah took an interest in my dogs routine, meals and habits etc. Her home has a lovely secure garden and she takes them out regularly for walks and play. Highly recommend if you’re looking over overnight boarding!
